He loves to capture the essence and feel of the weather conditions which envelop a landscape. His subjects range from Midwestern and western landscapes, to wildlife and still life. Many of his paintings are drawn from the wide open skies and prairies that he loves. He is a signature member of both the Pastel Society of America and the MidAmerica Pastel Society. He also belongs to Oil Painters of America. His work has found favor with jurors and purchasers alike. He considers himself fortunate to be able to paint full time, doing the thing that he loves.
